The Digit-al Dozen Recreates First Blog Posts - Salt, Pepper & Sophistication

Hello lovelies!

This month, The Digit-al Dozen's challenge theme is recreating our first blog posts. How fun! My first post however, was a snowflake mani and since I am still in denial about it being the end of summer, I decided to skip that one. For my first post I decided to celebrate my first milestone: The First Mani That Was Ever Shared On Social Media By Someone Else!

At the time, this mani was lovingly named 'Salt, Pepper & Sophistication', the former two referring to the polish that was used and the latter the stripes I added to it. This was the original mani:

I remember taking this picture whilst lying in bed. My process was still in its early stages! I had posted it on Facebook and TWO PEOPLE shared it! It was amazing, I was on cloud nine!

This mani was created using a base of W7 "Salt 'n Pepper", my very first glitter crelly. This time, the polish had yellowed and degraded, so I mixed it in a bottle cap with some white polish, to be able to handle it. I sealed it in with NPB Glitter Food to smooth it out, then with SV and then again with some matte top coat. I then took some striping tape (something I did not own yet at the time of the first mani, I used a striper there) and Essence "Black is Back" and fashioned the glossy black stripes. I don't think I could do the freehand stripes anymore. My hands got way more trembly since then... I remember applying this stripe design on my friends and family as well, as seen here and here and here, lol!

I had been wanting an excuse to recreate this mani and finally I had it! I enjoyed wearing it again.

What do you think? Would you ever wear this?

Now I cannot wait to see what the other girls recreated; many of us started about five years ago, so this will be fun!

I love it if people leave comments, they make my day! However, please don't post links to web pages, because I will delete these comments!
