Budget-proof St. Paddy's Manis

Hello lovelies!

Next Tuesday is St. Paddy's Day and I'd like to show you three super cheap, yet special nail polishes for the occasion. All these manis have been done throughout the last few months, hence all the different nail lengths and light circumstances. Let's start with a glitter gradient, my fave!

This is a glitter gradient with "The Most Wonderful Tree", from Essence's "Come to Town" trend edition, which was actually for Christmas, but oh hey, it's green, so it works! If you don't already own this, you might still find it in a discount corner somewhere in your drugstore. The polish has a clear base, full of tiny bar glitters, green little hexes and also some holo in there, it's really pretty, much prettier than the photos convey!

This is Essence "Underwater Love". Not a personal favourite for me. I don't like the metallic base and more chunky glitter combo. It looks odd. However, many other people like this a lot! I can also see it as a topper over black or green, for example. I actually recommend that, because as you can see on my macro shot, it gets a little wonky with three coats ;)

This is also a metallic/glitter combo, yet way less chunky and therefore the glitters do not create the weird effect. This actually looks quite lovely! It's a more toned-down green polish, so if you want to wear green, but don't want it to be out-there too much, this is your go-to polish! The luxurious finish makes it look very sophisticated too, so one could even wear it to work! You need two or three coats, depending on your nail length and the thickness of application.

Which one is your favourite?

But then instead of sponging it onto the base of the nail, sponge it on the tips!

  14. I love the color of Underwater Love but not a fan of the finish. It reminds me of that mermaid collection disaster from last year.
