Swatch: Emily de Molly "Bo Peep"

Hello lovelies!

To start the new year off properly, I thought I'd start with a beautifully bright indie polish: Bo Peep. One of the happiest polishes ever:

2013 Mainstream Polish Favourites!

Hello lovelies!

I thought, let's round up this year with my favourite mainstream nail polishes! I'll give you a top ten and I'll start with 10, a glitter topper but perfectly-opaque-in-two-coats polish from Essence, called "Only Purple Matters":

In ninth place, I put HEMA's Glitter Pink because it was nice and different for a change:

Number 8 is a wonderful bright green from Catrice, "I'm Not A Greenager", which is perfect for nail art and as a base for glitter:

Number 7 is a pretty from Rimmel, and also a perfect base for nail art. It's "Out of the Blue":

Number 6 is also a surprisingly pretty budget-proof blue polish from Paris Memories, no. 289:

Number 5. W7 Lava Flow:

In fourth place is Maybelline Brocades "Knitted Gold", my favourite of the bunch:

Now we have landed in the top 3! This is getting difficult, what will be my 2013 favourite?
3rd place is for... Golden Rose 109, a Candy Explosion!

2nd place is for... my first ever China Glaze: It's a Trap-eze!
And... drumrolllllllllllllllllllll........

First place goes to RIMMEL SPACE DUST! Yes, all of them. I cannot choose, it's too hard! They are one by one gorgeous, and I was very much surprised by the quality of this polish. The original posts are:

Aurora & Moon Walking
Luna Love
Shooting Star
and Total Eclipse

So there you go! Happy New Year's Eve, lovelies! See you next year!

ManiMonday: My sister getting ready for NYE

Hello lovelies!

My sister is getting ready for NYE already, so i quickly gave her a mani. She, like my other sister, also required red, so alright. But this time, let's combine it with black ;-)

Swatch-It Sunday: Emily De Molly "Cosmic Forces"

Hello lovelies!

Today, I have a pretty for you that had been on my wish list for AGES: Cosmic Forces by Emily de Molly. My sister went to Australia and I was able to order it and send it to an address where she was going to be staying for a while. The lovely Hayley from Emily de Molly was an important part in this whole operation; she sent out the polishes at exactly the right time for my sister to be able to receive them. Therefore I can attest the customer service is excellent :D Now onto the pretty!

Sisters and Snowflakes

Hello!

Today I have a simple snowflake mani that I did for my sister:

Christmas Eve Mani: Silent Night by Jindie Nails

Hello lovelies!

Merry Christmas Eve!
This is what I'll be wearing to church tonight:

It is another beauty by Jindie Nails, called Silent Night. Now here's why I HAD to wear it tonight: Tonight me and my family will go to church and we always love going on Christmas Eve, since we get to sing lots of songs and it's all about happiness and love. One of my favourite songs is Silent Night and it has recently been banned from the official Book of Christmas Songs by some very old and cranky bishops, together with one of my other favourite songs about the shepherds, which is I think a typical Dutch song (so I don't think many of you know it). Both songs are classics, they're the first songs one learns as a child, and now they've been deemed not good enough anymore. I will refrain from further conveying my thoughts and feelings on the matter, as they are not very Christmassy.

Tonight however, my mani is one of protest and rebellion and I hope that the folks who put together tonight's mass share my state of mind.

<I'm back from church and YES THEY TOTALLY REBELLED! They sang it twice, once at the beginning and once at the end :D>

I even made jewelry...

LOVE IT LOVE IT! Oh as for the polish: Little bits of fishing for the big glitters, but opaque in two easy coats and just amazing.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!!

More Christmas Manis!

Hello lovelies!

The Lieutenant's Sister and Mom are in town, whoohoo! Celebratory manis were in order :D Lieutenant's Sister got Xmassed:

I used Cadillacquer "Masterpiece", a red unnamed from Japan and Essence "A Walk in the Park". The Lieutenant's bf said: "Christmas Turds!". I guess that's true, lol ;-)

The Lieutenant's Mom chose one of my sophisticated quiet designs:

I used Salon Nails no. 20 as a base and freehanded the roses with pink, white, red and 2 shades of green. Family Lieutenant:
For Xmas, I made them some nail polish rings! My first nail polish jewellery! I plan to make more, lots and lots more...

I used Maybelling Color Show Brocades "Knitted Gold", "Rosy Rosettes" and Rimmel "Moon Walking" for these. Soooo pretty! <3 They thought so too :)

The Lieutenant's Xmas Mani!

Hello lovelies!

A quicky post. This is The Lieutenant's Xmas mani this year. I used L'Oréal "Midnight Sapphire", NYC "A Suitcase and a Donut" and "Full Metal Jacket":

I freehanded the trees with a cut-off striper and dotted the ornaments with my dotting tool.

Polish Me Silly: Tree-Mendous

Hello lovelies!

I ordered some pretties from Polish Me Silly on Black Friday... They have such happy polishes! I stumbled upon a lovely Christmas polish: Tree-Mendous. Look at it:

Isn't that the perfect jolly Christmas Tree? I think so! This is just one coat over Catrice "I'm Not A Greenager". I wore it to the Christmas Breakfast at work. It was a lovely contrast to my black-and-grey outfit :D
It applied really well and there was almost no need for fishing, when it came to the stars. That was very nice. I topped it off with some glitter food (Nail Pattern Boldness) and sealed it in with SV.

Love love love it! I'm definitely going to wear this again during ACTUAL Christmas ;-) The polish can be purchased here.
